LA Diary: Kilgour visit Los Angeles

Style :

Kilgour is one of my favorite tailors, with a deep and rich history as well as a distinguished client list. Few know it opened in 1882 on Savile Row, in the heart of the West end of London.

It came to the fore about 10 years ago for it's renewed vigor and celebrity clientele, such as Jude Law, below, who often wore their tuxedo's to events. The cut of their cloth is stunning and the quality is often unrivaled by other tailors on The Row (the nickname for Savile Row).

Kilgour's renowned bespoke service is one menswear's highlights and a must-do experience, but has only been available in London - until now. The company is planning to visit Los Angeles on Saturday 9th April (yes, this Saturday) until Monday the 11th April, where two of the company's most experienced sales consultants and cutters will be available for bespoke suit commissions.

Of course, the service is by appointment only, and clients will be able to examine fabric swatches, styling details and have their measurements taken where. The details and requirements will then be completed and the suit finished in the Kilgour store in London which will take about 80 man-hours.

As with all bespoke suit fittings, the first 'base fit' will be ready to try in September on their return or be sent by mail. All further fittings will be conducted by the same cutter on the return visit ensuring that you can have bespoke, 10,000 away from the heart of menswear tailoring in London.

Clients are invited to schedule an appointment between 9am and 5.15pm by emailing

If any one of you, or anyone you know makes and completes an appointment schedule, let me know as I would love to hear about your experience.
