Landed in LA: Zero + Maria Cornejo

Style : I love, adore and am captured by the American label Zero + Maria Cornejo, who have just opened a store in LA, on Melrose Place, that will be the sole and exclusive home to the labels men's collection in the city.

The pieces are amazing and the styling on the look book for the AW10 collection is well put together and there is a look for everyone. The draping of the knitwear, the structural lines of the heavy outerwear and the slim trousers paired with sleek gloves and scarves just complete such a great look.

This is the labels third store and the first outside of New York opened last week and is designed by Cornejo with Amale Andraos from New York's acclaimed and award winning Work Architecture. If you have ever been down Melrose Place, the ivy-covered and charcole facaded building is in keeping with the low, rectangle buildings popular in the area that has some of the worlds hottest stores.

Zero + Marina Cornejo began in 1998 when the Chilean-born designer decided to re-connect with the core of her ideas about design, so created a space, transforming a raw studio into a personal store and atelier, in New York's Nolita district.

Along side her design partner Marysia Woroniecka, the duo develop their collections based on sophisticated cuts and angles using volume and circular shapes as their basis. Like in the pictures, the draped look is a large part of the label, but what is created is dynamic and intelligent clothing which I adore.

The clothing and shoe ranges, stocked in London at Dover Street Market amongst other places, are priced from £165 ($250) to £1300 ($2000), with accessories from £260 ($400) to £590($900). To take a look at the collections, and for stockist and other info, click here.
