J W Anderson x London Fashion Week Menswear Day

Style :

JW Anderson is undoubtedly, in my opinion, the show of the season for menswear and what a show it was. A warning in the BFC tent area warned of a lazer being used within the show, which kept many fashionista curious until the finale.

Last seasons show made the expectations of his show high, and the tent was packed out without an inch to move. Mixing hard and soft images, there were psychedelic dip-dye, floral prints, crochet doilies upon tulle tops. The military trend crept in again this season with rolled-up trousers in muted camel tones, and biker jackets in raw canvas with studded collars which will no doubt be adopted on the high-street. T-shirts with anonymous and romanticized portrait images by William Gedney stitched on like a painting on a canvas dominated the upper wear, whilst cotton denim shorts in deep blue and black, as well as the afore mentioned trousers dominated the bottom. Lastly, the antique key and unique antique ring necklace were in keeping with the theme,  also the Swarovski crystal toed boots made an impact - and are available on OKI-NI, but will sell out VERY soon.

But it was the finale, where a lazer projected a cloudy sky over the catwalk, as the models trooped out to the sound of Pulp, stood under the pseudo sky and turned only to disappear behind the scenes. Magical and highly memorable.
