Gant by Michael Bastian

Style : Gant has long been viewed as a label that is more suited to my Dad than to myself. With the campaigns picturing 40 plus men in brown tweed jackets, beige 'slacks' and boat shoes the some what dowdy image has now had a youthful injection.

The collection, which launched in August, has been picked up by Colette in Paris, the achingly cool and exclusive department store in the centre of the city on Rue Saint Honoure.

Michael Bastain has taken inspiration from the vigorous and often aggressive Lacrosse, however there is not negative attitude within this offering. More over there are retro accents and a big nod - or rather salute - to all American sportswear. As I mentioned before about the demographic of the label, a younger audience are now buying into the Rugger line along side the older clients too.
