Lou Dalton SS11

Style :

Lou Dalton is female designer who not only has a great eye for the aesthetic, but understands mens clothing and mens shapes perfectly. I think it is her experience in the tailors from age 16, but also having a masculine view of the world and its style leaders.

Her show during London Fashion Week in September was a small yet lively gathering to present a medium-sized collection that looked to the traveller. Many of the designers on menswear day looked to the nomadic and traveling lifestyles and Lou looked particularly at the Romany people. She said that her research looked into romantic literature such as Wuthering Heights and Heathcliff which is evident in the unstructured, relaxed knitwear and tailoring. The casual layering suggested an emotional armor to hold the soul and the vibrant prints remind me of gypsy arts and crafts. I absolutely love the feathered printed trousers below because they have a stylistic image that is whimsical yet has an ethnic focus.

I am looking forward to seeing what Lou Dalton has in store for autumn winter 2011, though  await the drop of spring summer 2011 on Oki-Ni.com. Until, then her autumn winter 2010 collection is on sale here
