A Real Designer T-Shirt

Style : Many a cultural hero have been immortalised in art, sculpture and film but very few, particularly living ones, have their notoriety on a t-shirt.

Brachfeld Gallery & Dorothée Perret present 'Live Alive', an exhibition in Paris that shows a limited edition series of concert tour t-shirts emblazoned with the faces of living, contemporary fashion stars. The five designers; Alber Elbaz, Muccia Prada, Rick Owens, Haider Ackermann and Sonia Rykiel are characterised on the edgy, distressed black cotton t-shirts which are this seasons ultimate wearable collectable.

Created by Swedish duo Sandberg&Timonen, their satirical message communicates the dedication of the designers' loyal followers who, like at rock concerts gone by, snuck into shows. Like we have never done that! Actually, come to think of it, I don't remember having a ticket to a Gareth Pugh show a couple of years back...
Moreover, the duo are celebrating the esteemed careers of the five, as well as the consideration of them being leaders within their field for this generation.

But Sandberg&Timonen are not stroking ego's or looking to create a fashion frenzy. All proceeds of the exhibition goes to the excellent efforts of Médecins Sans Frontières' in Haiti.

Live Alive opens at Brachfeld Gallery on February 4th, from 7pm – 10pm, until February 28th.
